    Join Our Team as the APS Treasurer!

    Be a vital part of our mission to create positive change in the community! The Australian Psychedelic Society, a not-for-profit organisation, is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as Treasurer on a voluntary basis. If you have a keen interest in numbers, financial oversight, budgeting, and contributing to the nonprofit sector and psychedelics, we invite you to join our team.

    Responsibilities:

    -Oversight of budgets, accounts, and financial statements

    -Approval of organisational expenditure and events

    -Maintenance of financial systems

    -Assurance of compliance with funding conditions

    -Preparation and presentation of financial reports to the management committee and at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)

    -Maintenance of proper record-keeping practices in our accounting system

    -Provide insight on financial implications for strategic and operational planning

    Qualifications:

    -Experience or interest in bookkeeping and/or accounting (accounting background desirable but not mandatory)

    -Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    -Attention to detail and commitment to best practices in line with our organizational values and goals

    -Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations in both not-for-profit sectors and psychedelic ethics

    -Effective time management skills with the ability to follow up on decisions and take initiative

    This volunteer position requires a commitment of 1-3 hours per week, excluding meetings. You will collaborate closely with the Vice President (current Treasurer) and regularly report to our committee. Training and guidance will be provided. Meetings for strategic planning will occur 2-3 times per quarter.

    -Playing a role in website operations and content management to enhance our online presence: Help with Newsletter writing, articles, and developing/moderating online forums.

    -Contributing your expertise to advocacy and law initiatives. We need policy, law and comms experts.

    -Help enhance our organisational efficiency through aiding with administration, data entry , processes and improvements.

    -Collaborate on chapter event planning for unique and impactful local experiences, such as groups, integration events, and film screenings.

    Foster volunteer engagement and community building. Network with a diverse array of people across Australia both in person and online.

    -Build a group and become a affiliated APS chapter.
