The Sydney Chapter of the Australian Psychedelic Society warmly invites everyone to our Winter Western Picnic!
This season's picnic will be at Wentworth Falls Picnic Area, located in the spectacular Blue Mountains National Park. Join us by the campfire for a presentation by our esteemed member Voytek, with billy tea / coffee, a surprise campfire treat, and our ever popular book raffle draw.

Wentworth Falls Picnic Area has big, breathtaking views, and is also an entry point for many magnificent short and longer hiking trails into the remote wilderness of the Blue Mountains, including above and below the falls itself. The Picnic Area has recently undergone extensive improvements, with step-free pathways, parking, picnic tables, and accessible toilets.

SPEAKER
We are pleased to have Voytek deliver a fascinating fire-side talk exploring "Psychonautics - The systemic investigation of altered states of consciousness." The term 'psychonautics' maybe familiar, and originates from the Greek words psyche (soul or mind) and nautes (sailor or navigator) meaning 'sailor of the mind'.
Voytek is a transparent, GPhC (licensed prescribing pharmacist) with a specialist focus in neuropsychopharmacolgy. He is an outstanding professional who presents internationally. This is a rare and special opportunity not to be missed.

PICNIC DETAILS
We acknowledge the Gundangurra people who are the original inhabitants of the land on which we meet. We pay respect to their elders, past, present, and emerging, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Public transport is by train to Wentworth Falls station, and a 2.7km walk to the picnic area. Please check Trip View or other app for public transport information. If you don't use FB, please email sydney@psychedelicsociety.org.aufor directions, etc.
* Drop a comment in the discussion if you would like to carpool (always use caution)
* Attendance donation is always welcome (as affordable) to cover APS organisational costs and sundries.
* NSW National Park rules apply: No drones, no dogs/pets other than registered assistance animals, no smoking.
* Rug up - Warm clothing, coat, hat, gloves and appropriate footwear are all essential.
* Bring a picnic rug, chair, cushion, food and drink for yourself and something to share, musical instruments, books or artwork for discussion.
* For those coming alone, please message us in advance or let us know on the day, so one of our Event Crew can make you welcome and introduce you around
* A pin will be posted on the APS Sydney Facebook page showing where we are on the day. Look for the APS banner.
SPECIAL NOTE
Blue Mountains weather can change suddenly, become dangerous and mobile coverage cannot be relied upon. For those planning to make a weekend of it camping, or doing one of the longer walks, please make proper preparations. Always check the weather and let someone know your whereabouts and when you will return. If you are venturing into more remote areas, make sure to register your trip at https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/.../trip-intention-form and hire a free Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) before you head off.
