You're invited to a Rebirthing Breathwork evening, hosted by the Adelaide chapter of the Australian Psychedelic Society (APS).
WHEN?
Thursday, 19th June7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Upstairs at the Minor Works Building - where we usually hold our Integration groups.
22, Stamford court, Adelaide.

What is Rebirthing Breathwork?
Rebirthing is a gentle yet powerful conscious breathing practice that allows you to access altered or holotropic states of consciousness, similar in depth and insight to psychedelic experiences, but achieved solely through breath. These states can bring about emotional clarity, deep healing, integration, and a renewed sense of connection to self.
This session will be guided by Nick Avery, a trained Breathwork facilitator, Mental Health Social Worker, and trained as a Psychedelic Therapist. Nick brings a grounded, trauma-aware, and compassionate approach to breathwork. APS facilitators Jake, Amy, and Antanika will also be present throughout the evening to support participants and hold a safe, welcoming space.
What to bring:
A yoga mat or something soft to lie on
A blanket and a water bottle
Comfortable clothes
(Optional) A personal item to place on the shared altar
Accessibility and Support
We acknowledge that altered states—including those accessed through breath—can surface intense emotional themes for some. This evening is held with that awareness and care.
Support is always available. APS Adelaide offers access to:
-Grounded peer support during and after the session
-A network of trauma-informed professionals and crisis care services
-We host regular integration groups and community meet-ups for anyone seeking understanding, reflection, or connection through shared experience
If you're unsure whether breathwork is right for you, or want to speak to someone beforehand, please reach out to Nick Avery or message the APS Adelaide team via Facebook Messenger for a confidential chat.
Please note: Breathwork is not recommended for individuals with a history of psychosis, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder.

My Year in Psychedelics - APS Book Launch
My Year of Psychedelics -Exploring first-hand the amazing potential of mushrooms, MDMA, LSD and other life-enhancing substances. by Sarah Napthali - OUT NOW !
Sarah will be joining the APS to talk about the book and hold a Q&A session afterwards. There will also be books for sale, signings and a chance to chat to the author.
Twenty years on from the bestselling success of Buddhism for Mothers, Sarah Napthali remains keen to explore the depths of the human experience. Intrigued by reports of the power of mushrooms, MDMA, LSD, ayahuasca and others, and the immense potential for personal and spiritual growth, she becomes determined to try these medicines and apply what she learns to the challenges she now faces as a newly divorced empty-nester.
The new book release documents Sarah’s journey over one year, taking eight psychedelic medicines. She navigates the highs of new romance and travel, but also grapples with the loss of old friends and a confrontation with aching loneliness.
The psychedelic renaissance has provided a wealth of empirical evidence about the potential of these medicines, but this is a first-person account, a chance to join someone on their trips, and see how they impact her daily life.

But fear not, for within the pages of "How to Be Psychedelically Aware," you'll find a beacon of knowledge and guidance to help you navigate the realms of psychedelic experience safely and responsibly.
Authored by Thurston Katt and a team of seasoned experts, this comprehensive guide is more than just a manual—it's a manifesto for conscious exploration. As the buzz around psychedelic-assisted therapy and microdosing permeates popular culture, it's crucial to balance the allure with informed caution. With decades of combined experience, the authors have witnessed firsthand both the profound benefits and the potential pitfalls of psychedelic use.
Through the lens of harm reduction, this book offers a roadmap for individuals embarking on their own psychedelic journeys. Drawing from ancient wisdom and modern research, "How to Be Psychedelically Aware" demystifies the psychedelic experience, providing practical advice on everything from substance preparation to integration practices."
2. My Year of Psychedelics, by Sarah Napthali:
"Exploring first-hand the amazing potential of mushrooms, MDMA, LSD and other life-enhancing substances.
Over one year, Sarah takes eight psychedelic medicines. She navigates the highs of new romance and travel, but also grapples with the loss of old friends and a confrontation with aching loneliness.
The psychedelic renaissance has provided a wealth of empirical evidence about the potential of these medicines, but this is a first-person account, a chance to join someone on their trips, and see how they impact her daily life."

APS- Adelaide Monthly Integration Circles
The Australian Psychedelic Society Adelaide chapter invites you to attend our new and now monthly Adelaide Psychedelic Integration Circles.
We foster a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment for anyone seeking to integrate a past experience and share elements and insights in a way that supports integration. We will support you to make sense of challenging experiences, to share a meaningful experience with like-minded people, and to connect with the local community.
We acknowledge that recreational use of psychedelics continues despite a long history of criminalisation. The group does not encourage or condone recreational use, we do provide harm reduction practices and support.
The circle will allow for each of you to share a little about yourself and your experience, while we will also focus on learning tools and techniques to work through experiences in a structured way, guiding you through a process of reflection and action.

APS- Sydney Summer Picnic
The APS- Sydney chapter invites everyone to a Summer Picnic in the lovely shady grass of Neilson Park, right behind Shark Beach, in beautiful Sydney Harbour National Park.
Neilson Park has great views, some sealed and unsealed walking tracks, and netted harbour swimming at Shark Beach.
We acknowledge the people of the Eora and Daruk nations, the traditional custodians on whose land we meet. We pay respect to their elders past, present, and emerging, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
