Psychedelic Dating

Terms and Conditions

The Australian Psychedelic Society (APS) is committed to making Psychedelic Date Night a safe, respectful, and welcoming space for everyone involved, attendees, volunteers, and facilitators alike. If you attend a Psychedelic Date Night we will be following our Code of Ethics and you will need to agree to the following:

Code of Conduct

All attendees and volunteers at Psychedelic Date Night are expected to:

  • Treat fellow attendees with respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, disability, or background

  • Respect personal boundaries and consent: including the right of any attendee to decline a conversation, end a round early, or step away at any point without explanation

  • Engage in good faith and with honesty, while respecting that everyone has different levels of openness

  • Refrain from any form of harassment, unwanted advances, discrimination, or intimidation, during the night or in any follow-up contact

  • Respect names, pronouns, and identities as stated by each attendee

  • Follow the format and instructions given by the MC and APS hosts

Anyone who breaches this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave the event immediately without a refund, and may be excluded from future APS events.

Managing Difficulties on the Night

APS volunteers and coordinators will be present throughout the event. If you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or simply want to skip a round, please approach a volunteer.

Our team is briefed to:

  • Act as a discreet, non-judgmental point of contact

  • Provide a quiet space away from the main event if you need a break

  • Assist in redirecting or politely ending a conversation if requested

  • Escalate serious behavioural issues to the Event Manager, who holds sole authority to remove individuals from the venue or involve emergency services if needed

Registration and Matching

To organise pairings, attendees are asked at registration to indicate their gender and the gender they wish to be matched with.

APS recognises the diverse spectrum of identity and attraction, and we're keen to host future events with different matching structures (including LGBTQIA+-specific nights) if you'd like to be notified of these please join our newsletter.

Privacy: your registration data is accessed only by the organising committee, used solely to generate pairings, not shared with other attendees, and securely deleted after the event.

A Note on Substances

Psychedelic Date Night is a social event for people interested in psychedelics, consciousness, and related communities: it is not an event where substances are used, supplied, or condoned. APS does not facilitate or endorse illegal drug use at any of its events. Attendees who arrive visibly intoxicated or affected by illicit substances may be denied entry without a refund.

Agreements

By registering for Psychedelic Date Night, attendees agree to:

  • The Code of Conduct outlined above

  • Confirmation that they are 18 years or older (this will be confirmed by premises security)

Volunteers supporting the event agree to a short briefing covering confidentiality, conduct, and their role on the night, including the escalation path to the Event Manager.

Feedback and Concerns

If you have a concern about conduct at Psychedelic Date Night, or feedback on this policy, please get in touch. All concerns are handled with discretion.
